Privacy policy

This policy covers freehvaccalculators.com, operated by the FreeHVACCalculators.com team. The short version: the numbers you enter into a calculator are processed in your browser and are not sent to us; we collect only what we need to run, measure and fund the site.

Calculator inputs

Calculations run on your device. Your inputs are not transmitted to our server and are never sent to analytics. If you use “Share link”, the inputs are placed in the link itself so whoever opens it sees the same calculation — share it only with people you choose.

Stored in your browser

We use your browser’s local storage, not cookies, for three preferences: your unit system (US or metric), your theme, and your analytics choice if you made one. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

Analytics

Analytics is not currently enabled. If we enable Google Analytics, this section will describe exactly what it collects before it starts.

Advertising

Display advertising is not currently enabled. If it is, this section will name the advertising provider, the cookies it uses and how to opt out.

Sponsored product clicks

When a sponsored product is shown or clicked, we record which placement, on which page, and when, so we can report totals to the sponsor. We do not record your name, email address or calculator inputs, and we do not share personal information with sponsors. See the advertising disclosure.

Contact form

If you send a message we store what you write, the topic, the page you came from and, if you give it, your email address, so we can act on it and reply. We keep messages for up to 24 months and then delete them. To protect the form from abuse we keep a one-way hash of your IP address for 30 days; we do not store the address itself.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard web-server logs (such as IP address, page requested, browser type and time) for security and reliability, and keeps them for a limited period.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act — you may have the right to access, correct or delete information we hold about you, or to object to its use. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, use the contact page.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

When this policy changes we update the date at the top. Material changes, such as enabling a new analytics or advertising provider, are described here before they take effect.
